Please see below an email that we received from the City of Toronto regarding the City’s initiative to ensure responsible dog ownership. The City is seeking public input on proposed by-law changes. If you are interested, please take the time to read the materials referenced below and complete the survey by October 26.
In November 2015, Municipal Licensing and Standards reported to Licensing & Standards Committee on the results of the Responsible Dog Ownership Review. These results have also provided us with insight for the next phase of the review.
We committed in the last report to making by-law amendments, an education plan and enforcement strategy and reporting on those in the fall of 2016. One of the goals of the review is to provide recommendations on how the City can effectively respond to incidents of dog bites and dogs that may pose a risk to public safety.
We are consulting with the public again through this survey about the by-law changes proposed.
Please promote this survey through your networks.
